Frequently Asked Questions
How do I schedule an appointment?
Schedule an appointment online. You can also call our office number at 770-370-7188.
Do you take insurance?
We are currently in the process of credentialing with multiple insurance companies. This process can take some time. In the meantime, we are offering self-pay at $300 for an initial visit, and $125–175 for follow-up visits (cost based on time and complexity). At the end of your visit, we will provide you with a superbill you can file with your insurance. You can also check with your insurance to see if you have any out-of-network benefits, in which case you may be reimbursed a portion of the visit by your insurance company.
What should I expect on a first appointment?
Your initial psychiatric evaluation and assessment are conducted by a licensed healthcare professional with the necessary training and expertise to assess mental health.
During the assessment, you will be asked questions about your medical and psychiatric history, as well as current mental health symptoms you may be experiencing. The provider will ask about any medications, therapies, or treatments you have tried. This information will help identify any underlying mental health issues contributing to your symptoms. Together, you and the provider will determine what form of treatment you would benefit from, including medication, therapy, or some other form of treatment.
Where are you located?
Our in-person office is located at 5887 Glenridge Drive, Suite 230, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. We see patients in the office on Thursdays only at this time. Patients taking controlled medications will need to have an in-person visit once a year, as mandated by government regulations.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes, we offer telehealth. When booking your appointment, you may choose a virtual option for a telemedicine consultation. You will receive a link to our HIPAA-compliant virtual room.
What ages of patients do you treat?
Deena sees patients as young as 8 years old, and Lindsey treats patients 17 years and older.
Should I see a psychiatrist or a therapist?
A psychiatrist, nurse practitioner or physician assistant is a medical provider licensed to treat mental health disorders and prescribe medications. These providers offer initial screenings and diagnoses, offer prescriptions for medication and monitoring of them, and provide talk therapy. They may also refer patients to a therapist for more in-depth talk therapy.
A therapist is a licensed professional who provides talk therapy, but does not have the ability to prescribe medications. We provide medication management but can refer you to a therapist if desired.
